This wine is supply and fruity, with a lovely bouquet and exquisite finesse, offering aromas and flavors of dark fruit and hints of cherries. Made from grapes from the Chateau’s 30-year old vines, the wine shows excellent balance, medium body, and silky tannins, and pairs beautifully with beef, veal tenderloin, and pasta dishes with rich sauces and mushrooms. Drink now or cellar for up to 5 years.
Chateau Roudier is a beautiful and quaint, 18th century estate located just north of the village of Saint-Emilion. Owned by the Berthon family since the 18th century, its heir Thierry Capdemourlin blends his family’s tradition with modern techniques to produce beautiful wines.
The 30-year old vineyards used to produce the wine grow on a 30-hectare terroir of the southern slopes of Saint Georges and Montagne which face the northern slopes of Saint-Émilion. The exposure and sandy soil are ideal for producing bold and sublime wines.
